Do not confuse the source and destination

Since there are no instructions for cloning a disk when it is connected to a computer, it is better offline. The instruction manual is very small and doesn't help at all to clone on a computer, no software, no instructions, so really frustrating. When I connect drives to both the source and destination, the computer recognizes both drives as external and behaves like a standard external drive. Since it was made for disc copying, I was hoping there would be either dedicated software or evenโ€ฆ

Pros
  • I hold my fists
Cons
  • The possibility of updating

Rugged little vertical docking station with no floppy drive.

I ordered this to replace my USB3 SATA adapter as my old model drives had to sit on the table when copying and the ports were 180 degrees apart from each other. While my old machine is fine for fast work, the drives get very hot when you need to work like a clone long term. This device meets all requirements, drives are inserted vertically and it can be used for testing and cloning without plugging and unplugging drives in USB enclosures. The device itself seems solid enough as it is recognized

Pros
  • Cool
Cons
  • Not the best

Great docking station with offline functions

This is a great docking station that works well, comes with cables and is self powered to support even the largest spinning desktop drives. My only complaint? It comes with a USB-C to USB-C cable, not a USB-C to USB-A cable. SATA drives are becoming a thing of the past, but they still dictate their price with the amount of storage space you get. This docking station makes it easy to clone a drive even without a computer. It also provides a quick and easy way to connect two SATA drives to yourโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Expensive

Best for frequent swaps but can also be used as a long term hub

I have a USB 3.0 USB C to USB A converter with the included Type C to Type C cable for use with my PC used . You also have the option of using the Type-C and Type-A cables that come with most phones, although they're generally limited to USB 2.0 speeds (40Mbps) if they support data transfer at all. I like that the port on the hub is a USB-C port and not a weird port. I like the design of the hard drive bay door that covers the smaller hard drive bay. I have used this hub with two 7200rpm drives

Pros
  • Easy to read control panel
Cons
  • There are new competitors

Versus Orico USB-C Dock

Summary: Previously purchased Orico USB-C 3.1 Gen 2 Dock. Also as an expansion card LTERIVER USB-C 3.1 Gen 2, PCI-E (2 ports). I will run two tests: 1) Seagate 6TB HDD and 2) SEKC 120GB SSD via Icy Dock 2.5-3.5 adapter housing in ORICO and WAVLINK. Speed test app: ATTO Benchmark. Observations: First I tested Orico with two discs. The Seagate 6TB was slow, averaging 180MB/s read/white (R/W) in Orico. I then entered the SEKC into the Orico via media, resulting in the following result: 540/520โ€ฆ
