Big saver for our oven

This item saved us money on a new oven! We recently noticed that the bottom element in our oven broke after catching fire a few minutes after it was turned off. We looked around for new ovens, then I made a video about how easy it is to swap out the element. It's so easy to install! I had to run the oven with the window open for a bit until the protective layer burned through, but the oven works better than before.

Pros
  • Easy installation
Cons
  • Some problems

Now I'm on my third replacement. thanks GE

I will buy the third one soon. Not sure if it's the oven or the part that's awful, but the oven itself is only 5 years old. The first two elements caught fire and burned out in the section, but this last replacement was completely warped and twisted - generally it seemed to be melting. I usually use my oven once a day, but either it or the oven doesn't seem to last more than a year before it fails.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Vulgarity

it worked! . Meager. :(

UPDATE 8/12/19 Sorry, you get what you pay for. This generic item died in our oven last week after only 8 months. It's way too quick for our original item in the oven was 12 years.Sometimes cheap is actually a lot more expensive.FIRST CHECK This unit appears to work Our Hotpoint range is model number R B536W and although this item is a slightly different shape it appears to work well Add our model number to the list .Do not buy again.

Pros
  • Best in Niche
Cons
  • Volume

Installing with xahtion

4/5 because it really works. This is clearly not an OEM specification: lighter, stiffer and less oven friendly. I will update the review in a few months if it breaks prematurely as others have mentioned. Regarding installation: Some have mentioned retaining clips when removing the old item. If they get lost behind the stove (very likely), don't try to fish for the wires unless it's obvious. Simply remove the back panel from the oven and feed the wires through. There is isolation so get ready…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Big and bulky

My original heating element lasted 17 years before a small crack developed causing arcing, sparks and stray small weld beads before finally burning out. I first approached GE for a replacement but they wanted around $85 and this is a range I'll probably be replacing in a few years so I popped in here instead and was glad several vendors had this for offer about 20 US dollars. The first, pictured above, only lasted four days before burning down. I love that PartsBroz was quick to send me a free…

Pros
  • Great price
Cons
  • Everything is fine
