Description of Well pump Grundfos SB 3-45 AW (1050 W)

Well pumps SB Grundfos SB is a submersible well pump for water supply systems. It is used for efficient pumping of clean water from wells and rain storage tanks. The well pump is available in two basic versions: with built-in strainer (perforation 1 mm); with side entry, which includes a flexible suction hose floating mesh filter (perforation 1 mm). In both versions, the SB pump can be supplied with or without a float switch. The float switch can be used for automatic operation or for dry-running protection. Pump options Model Integral strainer with float switch A Integral strainer without float switch M Float filter with float switch AW Features and Benefits Silent operation When submerged, the SB pump runs silently and is therefore a cost effective alternative to non-submersible pumps. High Reliability The SB well pump is made of corrosion resistant stainless steel composite materials. In addition, the pump is equipped with a stainless steel filter that prevents large particles from getting inside. Integrated protection The pump is equipped with thermal overload protection. Float Strainer The float strainer model sucks water just below the surface where the water is clean and free of solids. Built-in non-return valve Dry running protection (SB pumps with float switch) Additional advantages when installing SB well pumps with PM 1 and PM 2 automation units: Convenient control of the pump operation directly from home. Automatic pump operation. Dry-running protection built into the PM1/PM 2 control units. Extended functionality when installed with the PM2 control unit The SB series pump is a submersible auxiliary pump for pumping clean water, particularly suitable for pumping rainwater. The pump is supplied in two main versions: with a strainer on the suction line of the pump (mesh with a hole diameter of 1 mm); with lateral suction line, which includes a suction tube with a floating mesh filter (mesh with a hole diameter of 1 mm). Quick selection guide General instructions If the distance from the wall of the tank (well) to the pump is more than 1.5 meters, it is recommended to use a model with a side entrance. If the distance from the wall of the tank (well) to the pump is less than 1.5 meters, a model with a strainer is recommended.

A great option for this money, I definitely recommend it!

The pump worked flawlessly for the season. Stands in a well with a diameter of 0.9m. Took with a margin of power. Now I understand that it was necessary to take the 35th. This one is very productive, for me with a lot of excess. At the same time, 6 points of water consumption + pumping water into the irrigation tank 3m3. The problem with the float and the hose did not affect me, as there was at least 2 m of water above the pump all the time.

Pros
  • Productivity, quiet, the entire water supply station is in the well, there is no need to fence anything extra, the automation works like a clock.
Cons
  • I think there is a lot of pressure in the system. If it was possible to regulate the pressure of the pressure in the lower side, it would definitely be a plus.

Several times I forgot to turn off the water in the house, once the hose connection in the well flowed, once at the connection of the pump to the hose. That is, the pump has been running idle for many hours. Or drove or pumped to zero (his shutdown). No problem :) Some pros: I've been using it for 6-7 years. Well 20 meters, up to 10 houses and water up to the 2nd high floor. Tank in the basement 30 liters. External automation. The expense is big. Basically enough pressure. But if deeper or…
