Violates all product and packaging usability rules.

My experience started with trying to get a soldering iron out of the box. The clam plastic bladder was much thicker than needed. The two halves were then welded together from plastic, as is common with most retail packaging. Small loose items inside were secured with super aggressive tape. This method is not recommended for paper manuals. By the time you separate the instructions from the tape, most of the printing will be gone. I doubt you'll read the instructions anyway because of the two…

DOES NOT PRODUCE ENOUGH HEAT TO WORK!

I have probably 4 soldering irons and weller guns that work great and have always had. However, they all have one thing in common: they all plug into a socket. This battery powered soldering iron barely heats up to melt the included thin solder roll. I even checked the batteries and they were all fine. Almost works - for a moment

I bought this for a travel kit to use when I'm off the beaten track. Other reviews list most of the problems: - The battery cover is very annoying (difficult to open, then difficult to close). but it was a mystery to solve - battery installation isn't obvious (but look closely, inside is a print showing + and -) - may work for a short time and then not at all.
