I didn't order a soldering tip from Weller, but I made a mistake, the device overheated because there was no magnetic tip. The tip is correct for the Weller TCP model and is configured and working perfectly.

Have been using the handpiece for several years now. Use a FRY's Electronics brass sponge to wipe the tip so it solders. The iron normally runs at 700-800 degrees but I use a rheostat to drop the temperature down to 500 degrees for fine surface mount work and leave the iron idle for long periods while other mounts take place.
