It was a good iron but I can't replace the tip

It worked great but now I need to replace the tip and I've removed the screw but the tip will mostly welded there. I went to the Weller website, there is a section with instructions for use, but there is nothing there. Do you think I just have to buy another one now?

Pros
  • Stainless steel body, heat and shock resistant handle
Cons
  • So far so good

Replacement iron to fit spares and accessories

Finding a replacement iron compatible with the temperature control unit was crucial for me. My old iron broke and needed replacing. It may be my imagination, but this one seems to heat up faster than the old one. The price was reasonable and allows me to continue using the temperature control unit I already have.

Pros
  • Sturdy design with rounded handle for easy twisting of tip
Cons
  • Not sure

Improve hard and subpair cables.

Weller could offer a better cable with more flexibility, but that's enough for now. The best budget option. Buy additional tips. Update: The plastic they use for the insulator that the piece of metal is screwed onto is too cold and when a load is applied when soldering the screws loosen easily. They are using the wrong size plastic self tapping screws for the hole they have. If you use larger screws the plastic won't crack and will hold up much better. Just buy a better device, don't chase…

Pros
  • IMPORTANT: Only use Weller tips
