Very bad design - hand tool

As with some other reviews - the T-bolt you use to hold the vise in place and stop it from turning will snap off on first use as the file sharpens the hatchet (not much effort ). I asked the company for a replacement and they sent the same screw out of the box. Very bad design. Too bad because otherwise it's a really good vise for the money!

Pros
  • Alright!
Cons
  • Expensive

Strong and versatile.

VERY well designed and solid construction. Degree scales have a unique and innovative design. The fully rotating jaws are my favorite design feature. The only thing that bothers me is the open slot channel for closing/opening the jaw with a trapezoidal screw. Dirt, moisture and dust that has accumulated over time must be cleaned regularly to ensure trouble-free operation. All in all I am VERY SATISFIED with this product.

Pros
  • great product
Cons
  • something different

Poor quality control

We have to agree with A. Mullen. Received mine today (3 days late thanks to FedEx from HomeDepot; should have bought it here). The first thing that strikes me is that the jaws are not perfectly aligned when closed. That's important to me. Second, I'm looking for where the arrow should point to the degree scale when rotating. I find a small dent, I suspect it could be it. But the vise is level when the camber reads 4 degrees. Not impressed; I'll probably come back.

Pros
  • Great design
Cons
  • Crumpled packaging
