West Coast Corvette Clear Protectors Review

My rocker panels were brand new when I bought this product. Put it on and make sure to clean it well. After a few months I took it off and noticed obvious scratches. It rubs and does MUCH more damage than it protects. DO NOT BUY THIS, YOU WILL DAMAGE YOUR CAR

Very happy with this product. Fits well and is easy to remove for cleaning. I had read other reviews before purchasing and one of them mentioned using fine grit sandpaper to smooth the edges to avoid chipping or denting in the paint. I did that and there were no problems. A little pricey for plastic parts, but they do what they were made for: protecting your door sills.

Do not buy! It's a good idea, but they rub the paint. I wore them for about a week and saw what looked like white underneath. I took it off to see what it was and tried to erase it. Most of the white, whatever it was (plastic, clear coat) came off, the paint leaving marks where there was a white powdery residue.

These door sill protectors are perfect for the C7 and they look great. I like that most of the cover has a slightly matte finish, but the box above the Corvette logo is perfectly sharp. Velcro is not mentioned in the product listing but is nice. The random shifting of these sill protectors was a problem on my C6. It's too early to tell if the velcro will be a problem if removed to wash/dry as someone mentioned.

I got them as soon as I got the car and I'm so glad I did. They do an excellent job of protecting fragile metal door sills and surrounding plastic parts. I get in and out of the car very carefully and there are already a few scratches on it that would rest on the door sills themselves. I take them off before washing my car and put them back on after drying the rocker panels. They are easy to put on and take off. I am very happy with them.

I have heard from other people who have it that it stains the interior carpet. So I removed the glue with a utility knife. I had it for about six months or so. I take it out every few weeks when my car is in and so far I haven't had any issues with my interior. Because it's so low, I keep scratching my feet on the window sill. I'm so glad I got this. If you're not very coordinated and need to step on a windowsill I would reconsider taking the velcro off as the plastic can be slippery.

I have a 2017 Z-51 ramp that is 3 months old. I noticed a small scratch near the Corvette badge on the rocker panel. So I bought these "shields" to prevent further abrasion. I wore them for about a week and noticed wear in new places on the rocker panels. I assumed it was a security guard. Then I remembered the Corvette owner mentioning how those guards would scrape at the sills of his Corvette. Well they do. For this reason I would not buy them. Why pay for something that doesn't meet specs…
