They're so sharp they cut through thick plastic and thick cardboard like butter. They are solid metal with metal screws and bolts holding them together. It is polished to a high gloss. I bought 3 more of these scissors. My mother has a set of Westcott shears that she has worn since she got married over 50 years ago and they are still in good condition. She never had to sharpen them. I need scissors in every room. I love these scissors

Love them. Bought 2 pairs and no complaints, they are strong steel scissors as before that can be disassembled and sharpened. Good weight in hand but too heavy.
