So far so good, best in Night Lights

Rec A pair of WESTEK LED lights replaced a defunct other brand last week. The night light is enough to provide ample light to walk in a dark hallway, and when tested (by unplugging the lights) both lights came on in blackout mode. Only time will tell how good they really are.

Not very bright when working with FLASH function

Seems to work well as an emergency light. However, I had a different brand before and it was much brighter than the flashlight. If, like me, you're using this as a quick and convenient light source for your way outside, you may need an emergency light with a brighter flashlight.

High failure rate, power failure cannot be detected.

Save money. I saw all the reviews about it and thought I found a solution to my problem but they turned out to be rubbish. Of course I can still use them as flashlights, but I don't need them for that. They don't detect power outages as intended, and the single unit failure rate is ridiculous.

The Westek Night Light Sensor performs better than the Energizer Weather Ready Sensor when placed in the same location.

Westek Power Failure LED is brighter than Energizer Weather Ready when used in flashlight mode. For private use, this Westek emergency light is as good as it gets. Modified for longer battery life

I bought 4 of these lights and they work pretty well but I was hoping for longer battery life. It only provides about 4 hours of usable light. Basically, after 4 hours, the light becomes too weak to be used. If you decide to disassemble the flashlight, you'll find that it comes with a 200mAh Ni-MH battery, the type of battery used in older home cordless phones. Pleasant combination of functions - night light, emergency light or flashlight. Loads fast. See the top review for a few modifications. Mine stayed on in low average ambient light. We were looking for several power failure indicators to complement our built in power failure indicators. It's a great combination of shutdown lamp, flashlight and daily night light. They plug into an outlet and will not block the second plug allowing it to be used.
