Worked great. My husband installed ten of these to update the lighting in our house. He quickly learned to pre-drill existing cans before attempting to install brackets. The problem had nothing to do with these items. You were fine. The sheet metal in the light box was very thin and buckled dangerously when he tried to install the mounting screws.

The perfect kit for refinishing a recessed box light. I hired an electrician to replace two of my lightbulbs with two awesome hidden brackets. He was able to make both lanterns in about thirty minutes and had no problems. White trim is included, I chose the bronze ones (also bought from Revain) but they can be painted any color you want. Very happy with the result and highly recommended.

The product itself is excellent. I achieved my goal by replacing the 2 recessed lights above my island with 2 pendant lights. However, it wasn't easy to install. I recommend watching the tutorial on Utube, but I couldn't drill a hole in the canister either as the instructions looked very simple. I had to get additional tools like titanium drill bits and a hole punch. This whole process took several hours. Finally installed, looks great and exactly what I wanted.

Had to pre-drill screws to work. The design assumes the jars were installed perfectly aligned with the plasterboard ceiling, as they should be, "but" the reality isn't. I had to take longer screws and cut them longer to attach the mounting bar to the adjustable bracket. Still a bit painful but I made it. there were not enough different length screws to attach the mounting bar to secure the fairing

I bought two packs to make pendant lights. The instructions just say oh use those self tapping screws. I don't know what's in your lamps, but mine was tin and there's no way you can knock on it yourself. I had to drill and drill everything. After that everything was smooth. Fast and easy. The second one took me 15 minutes, necessary so I'd say buy it because you need it, but I'm happy with the end result too. It also had a white bezel, which was nice.

Honestly, the price can't be beat. There's even a video on YouTube the company made to help with the installation. It has 4 starts, so be sure to check that the metal plate your mount attaches to matches the inside diameter of the kit's plastic cover. It's a "must have" because it's a standard size.
