Westinghouse 7773200 16 Inch Ceiling Medallion Review

When my house was built they were in such a hurry that the insulation from the fixture stuck to the damp ceiling. The medallion covered it with a ceiling fan. It also adds a beautiful finishing touch to the crown molding. I think it's good if the ceilings are repainted, the medallion can also be painted.

Very glad we got this! We had to replace the fan in the bathroom and there was a huge ugly gap for a year. I had the idea to try the blanket medallion, I ordered it, received it the next day and my husband made it in less than 20 minutes. Such a beautiful and easy solution, can't believe we've never done this before!

It's almost the same as what you'll find in a hardware store but a lot cheaper! I always prime and paint these medallions to look like plaster, not plastic. Once you are sure the light is in place and hanging at the correct height, seal the outside edge of the locket for a professional finish.

We used this medallion to cover the area, sealed it with caulk to keep moisture out and reinstalled the light/fan. So far, so good. and it's for painting

Now I know it's best to use a locket that's the same diameter as the lamp it's under. The medallion can be painted, but it doesn't have to be. Good value for money.

These medallions will add a touch of elegance and enhance any installed appliance. They're a great price, the reason I'm giving them 4 stars is because they're *not quite* as good as the Lowe's Portfolio brand I've used in the past. I am very happy with this ceiling element. I've bought 3 of these so far. They are a great accent for ceiling fans or light fixtures. They also take on the task of eliminating rough cutouts and surprises under the bindings. The exterior is clean and simple but adds a touch of elegance. It's finish is semi-gloss so I'm not sure how well it will take paint if you don't prep it in advance. I was able to use them as is which added to the ease of use. I recommend it.

They are beautiful, simple and easy to install. Of course, you'll have to lower (disassemble) the fan to install the medallion, but it's worth it if you like this type of decor. All of our Hunter ceiling fans are made of bronze, so we wanted to add bronze colored medallions. They can be painted and if you can get a decent bronze spray paint you'll have a pretty nice medallion to match the ceiling fan. The lockets we received are flat brilliant white. The flat texture makes it ideal for drawing.
