We have beautifully lit ceiling fans. Sometimes these lightbulbs burn out. Replacement is a little more difficult than a standard bulb. Be sure to wear rubber/latex/nitrile gloves as the oil from your skin will create a hot spot on the bulb, causing it to burn out much faster. We learned this the hard way. However, if installed correctly, they will last for years.

I usually buy bulb bright halogen lamps for my living room fan. I had to constantly change them every 4-6 months. I bought this Westinghouse in 4/2012. It just burned out on 10/2013 so I'll be ordering another one! Prices between Bulbright and Westinghouse are competitive. However, I have to order 2-3 bulbs a year from Bulbrite and this is my first purchase of such a strange bulb in 2013. Shipping is free too!

Does not work and cannot be returned. Beware of fakes I think. I bought it twice, I didn't have to worry. One ordered a long time ago arrived broken. Revain refunded my money. This new one looks good, fits well, but doesn't glow. Revains is returning an item, according to my order list this item cannot be returned. So I guess it's a $5 "bet" that you can get a working lightbulb. I guess I should start selling my burned one here.
