I need the Hampton Bay fan light kit that came with my house and appears to have been installed back in 2002. Fan control and (hopefully!) light control. I first googled Hampton Bay ceiling fan universal lighting kits and that led me to Revain, this product. Went ahead and bought it. Everything came without any problems. Well, the first thing that struck me was that my Hampton Bay light was 3 3/4 inches in diameter while this product was only 3 1/2 inches. This lighting set is exactly as described. It is designed to accommodate a variety of fans in one of three installation styles. It can be installed with side screws, bolts through the cover, or with keyholes. I've had no trouble installing the center screw (they call this method universal installation) on any standard fan installed in my home. It's a bit flimsy as the metal is thin but not easy to break. 9 years ago we purchased 2 identical ceiling fans for the vaulted ceiling in our front dining room. The included lighting sets were . Lousy. Each fan came with three small compact fluorescent bulbs. These were candelabra base bulbs, meaning they burn out twice as fast and cost twice as much to replace. Also, they don't have the higher wattage we need to light up this large space. This light kit is one of the ONLY KITS I've found that has the standard CENTER BASE instead of that candelabra crap.

Received this to replace a light kit that was installed on a ceiling fan 10 years ago. The hardest part was removing the old set of headlights (as a result I removed it in parts). Installing the new light kit was relatively easy. Directions were clear, not too many steps. The hardest part for me was getting the small screws back in place.
