I liked how durable and easy to use. But one of the blades just fell out and I've only been using it for about 4 months. Very disappointed! Maybe it's just this one, but it was expensive to break so quickly!

Bought a few months ago to replace a wire knife. I was cutting mushrooms with it last night when one of the blades bent - on a mushroom! I beg your pardon? I suspect it's the paring knife again.

We bought this slicer specifically for slicing mushrooms. From day one it didn't work properly. With prolonged use, the blades became stained because they were never aligned. It took too much effort to cut even 8 ounces of mushrooms. Sent back for a full refund. Very disappointed - bad design.

Unlike other stakes, you cannot chop an egg. . . You can. You just have to do it slowly so it cuts and doesn't crush. Wash immediately. Leftover food gets stuck in the blade slots. Much better than wire cutters that break on the third use!

OK, FINALLY an egg slicer that lasts longer than 3 weeks! I was so disappointed with the wire egg slicers: Under $10 egg slicers last for one use (seriously!) $12-$15 lasts almost a month. Haven't used this product yet but am deducting two stars from my rating because the frame looks like cast aluminum which looks pretty fancy and I was expecting it to be all stainless steel from the description. . I have used many food slicers in my life (I'm 60+) and I can say without hesitation that the Westmark stainless steel slicer made in Germany is far superior to any conventional food slicer. It's well built and very durable. This food slicer needs to be hand washed so be careful when cleaning as the blades are sharp and could injure someone in a hurry. I recommend rinsing it very well right after using the food slicer if you don't wash it right away. We eat a lot of strawberries, mushrooms…
