Great for making fishing lures

Mounts on 2x4 and I use C clamps to attach to any flat surface if needed. This modification was recommended by another customer review. If using chum salmon, cut it into 1-inch pieces, avoiding using the skin, scales, bones, and tails. Small bait does not bother. After use, separate and clean each part, dry and spray with food-grade silicone or non-stick spray to keep parts lubricated and prevent lead from rusting.

Simple and effective.

Very impressed with how this little meat grinder works, normally grinds about 6lbs of meat at a time, never kept track of how long it takes but it's quite fast. The cleavers work very well, I like to run the meat through the mincer twice. Cleaning is pretty quick, I found that there are no nicks or cracks in the machine, meat can get stuck in it, it's easy to disassemble. I find it works just as well as the fancier electric coffee grinder.

  • Excellent overall performance

  • Reliability

Another example of how they don't make them like they used to.

The plastic part of the auger broke on the second use. I contacted Weston, who suggested a replacement and said this would happen "most likely often". The instructions say not to air dry, but the pieces are very difficult to towel dry. Almost instantaneous oxidation despite my best efforts. The threads on the front panel are misaligned, making it difficult to screw it on. All in all bad cast. I think it's a comeback for me.

Bad product, lesson learned

Cheap, low quality Chinese hand mill. The finish is mediocre at best. Parts don't fit well. This is not an old manual meat grinder. Auger wasn't straight. The pod exploded into the first 10 pounds of ground beef. The grinder's blades are poorly finished, leaving a rough texture for the cutting blade to rub against during use. Save money on a LEM or Kitchener #32 manual coffee grinder. I took a chance and learned my lesson. The thing is junk. The butcher has been using it for mincing game at…

Worth every penny! in the kitchen and dining room

The box came on time, the wooden handle was divided into 4 parts, it's okay, I made a new one. The meat grinder is a beast! I am very happy with how it works! Chop up 8 pounds of deer and 4 pounds of bacon chunks and stuff a bundle of sausages in just an hour. I read the bad reviews and decided to buy anyway. I dismissed the negative reviews as people just didn't know how to do it. I screwed it onto an 8" square piece of stainless steel tubing and screwed the tubing onto the countertop, very…

Pros
  • Great for me
Cons
  • Appearance

Very disappointed. I am a longtime Weston coffee grinder user. The new 32's I bought in October looked just as good as any I've used before. Attached it directly to my meat block station. And chop up 35 pounds of still slightly frozen venison. As I moved the shredded product, I noticed tiny bits of white plastic. The nylon cover broke into 2 pieces. Eating meat is unsafe. With great difficulty I contacted customer service and after about a week they processed the warranty claim. They decided to

  • It's fun
Cons
  • There are flaws

Good meat grinder when used properly

My family has used these meat grinders for decades. The reason for their popularity is that centuries-old traditions are reflected in the design and nobody could think of anything better. Of course there are always negative comments, but mostly from people who don't know what they are buying. 1) rust. Of course it rusts, steel rusts. In order not to be after washing, I put the steel parts (grinding disk and cutting knife) in a preheated toaster to dry them thoroughly and then brush them with…

Pros
  • Useful for more than it's intended purpose
Cons
  • Nervous

That's it. This is a manual meat grinder and sausage stuffer, so don't expect it to do all the work for you. For the price I really have nothing to complain about. I bought an open box and saved some money. I had no problems with my purchase even though it was an open store and the sausage stuffer set was never opened. In fact, I don't think the device was ever used at all, but the packaging was a little damaged, so Revain is discounting it as used, even though it's actually a new device. If…
