This is a really nice teapot. He has a soft, pleasant whistle - not loud and not annoying. It's lightweight and easy to wash. I like the little heart on the handle. The handle gets hot so I still have to use the hot pad when pouring water.

I have used it on a gas hob and on my glass top. Works great so far. Very nice appearance and good sounding whistle. We took this campsite and the water stayed hot for some time despite sitting on a table outside. I figured I would have to heat the water for the campers who were sleeping a bit, but it wasn't necessary.

Our recently retired friend told us that she would like to start making tea in a teapot at home. This teapot was the perfect gift for her. It's lightweight - just over 1 pound - yet durable. Black color, with wooden handle, attractive. Most importantly, the tea is brewed very well and the whistle is loud enough when the water is ready. Great gift. Or a great item for yourself.

I bought this as a gift for a family member who loves the rustic style. The grain and pattern were really attractive and the weight of the kettle was very comfortable. I was excited to see them open because of the quality. I wasn't disappointed with her reaction. She totally loves it! What a fun little throwback to the less techy days when a whistling kettle was a magical invitation to sit down at the kitchen table and enjoy a cup of hot, soothing tea.

Given the list price, I expected a higher quality kettle. Pros: The matte black is quite nice and looks good on my black and white panel. The small, lightweight size makes it easy to handle and pour.
