Fantastic winch accessory case

I love this case! It doesn't have a cord or rope to attach the lid to the winch, which surprises me. Stays on when driving at highway speeds or higher. Holds up very well with my smittybuilt 9500 winch. Will definitely buy again if I need a new one. Thanks very much!

First impression is good!

I just received my neoprene winch cover and installed it on a Champion 10,000 lb winch. The fit is roomy so it's pretty easy to put on, but I find it's snug enough to hold on. I was concerned as my winch was at the top of the range. The leather gloves thrown into the deal appear to be quite durable.

Fades Fast: Covers

This winch cover is a worthwhile purchase but I am very disappointed with how quickly it fades. The neoprene color changed from black to purple gray in less than 8 months. I'm tempted to paint it and see what happens. It fits well and does its job of protecting the synthetic rope from the sun. I'm just not sure how long it will last if it goes away so quickly.

Pros
  • Easy to Use
Cons

Good fit for winches over 9500

Just received this winch cover. I have a Smittybilt XRC9500 installed on the winch. It attaches easily and fits snugly. The supplied gloves are made of cheap leather, but are intended to protect your hands when pulling on the cable. I'm not worried if the color fades but I hope it lasts a few years. I live in the southwestern desert where the sun can ruin everything quickly. I will try to update my review in a year.

The color fades quickly! to exterior accessories

I have a 12000 lb Badland winch. This lid is not very tight, it is very loose at the top. Although it's loose, I have no problem with it wanting to come loose when I'm driving down the freeway. It does its job of protecting my windlass from rain. The original color was great, but after about three months it turned grey-purple and faded quickly! Will have to buy another brand.

  • Lots of good vibes

Fits perfectly on my Smittybilt 10K winch

I was only given this to keep my synthetic rope from UV damage on my Smittybilt 10K winch and I wasn't expecting much. But this cover fits very well and does not move. I'm towing my Jeep, so I kept an eye on my rear camera and waited for the lid to pop open. No more worries and I couldn't be happier. IDK how long that's going to take, but it's a lot cheaper than replacing a synthetic rope anyway, and a lot cheaper than an off-road tow ticket if that sun-damaged rope breaks when you need it…

Pros
  • Decent performance
Cons
  • Some bugs

may be good for some winds.

There was a very strong unpleasant odor coming from the cover, which took a long time to dissipate. The cover seems to be too big for my winch, which was a 12,000 lb badland winch. Its width seems to be quite good, but it was too high and didn't fit securely on the winch. I had to fold up the bottom piece to make it fit more securely and look less like a toaster lid. The gloves were included, but the finger seam on one of the gloves was such that it was almost impossible to flex the finger…
