Good product for the money

Good product for the price. My constructive criticism: don't put the SKU sticker on the end you're used to getting dirty. I have tried soap, olive oil, citrus juice and various spirits but have not been able to remove the adhesive residue. Put a sticker on the side of the handle, if there is one, or it will bleed into beverages made with it over time.

  • Always liked

Weak but does the job

Nice color and shape. He's so easy. I mean, for a slob I definitely want some weight behind it, otherwise I feel like it will pop with enough pressure. But this one if not maintained I have a feeling the low density wood will dry out and you will have problems. But I think for the price you can't complain. I only needed it to make drinks during quarantine. I only pick it up once a month so it should last a while if I clean it properly!

Well made, cleans with a little care

This is a nice sturdy little pestle that feels very comfortable in the hand and works effectively when mixing all kinds of drinks. One caveat is that a dark stain or surface doesn't hold up very well, especially with any kind of vigorous rubbing. Even with careful maintenance, acids and friction will wear away the finish over time, revealing dull and light colored wood. However, that doesn't detract from its usefulness (and didn't make us sick!). However, as with other woodworking tools, avoid…

Fur. Get the real one instead.

Costs $2. I decided to crack it. In hindsight, I should have just thrown in a few bucks more for something that wasn't lacquered. I sanded the bottom before using it and I think it does the job (I'm not a very good bartender, as evidenced by the fact that I thought a $2 pestle would be a good idea). But putting varnish on something you're about to smash, something you're about to swallow is not a good idea. If I had more time I would buy a solid wood conical rolling pin, saw it in half and get…

Would recommend for a crafty person with tools!

It's hard not to give these 4 stars but something needs to be said. I bought this for my home bar, thought the price was too good to be true! Well that was kind of the case, if you have access to decent sandpaper this can "almost" be solved. So, as I said, this is made of lacquered wood. One that obviously easily dissolves with hard alcohol (which you use to make drinks), so I figured I'd grind up the mash (the part that does the squeezing). After sanding the major faces I found out the problem

Pros
  • practical item
Cons
  • so far so good
