One problem with the cable that is common to all cables is that it breaks where the cable comes out of its bracket. I've had several of these and they all break in the same place. I taped them before use and they break. I had wire in them, I wrapped them in tape and they broke. I took mold plastic and reinforced them and they broke. Perfect replacement for my 6 year old cable. The design is still poor, but moving the Sattilite grip to the side made it easier to grab the plastic instead of the rubber/wire to connect and disconnect. In terms of replacement, it's an exact five-star match, and in terms of design, it's three stars. Hence four stars

good quality, powered by satellite dish as intended. Good length, only 12V power supply can be used unless you buy a converter. For the price, you'd think it would come with a converter. My van only has an external 110v power supply so I had to buy a converter.

There is a nice red light at the end of the connector to indicate that the power is on. The wire is flexible and of good quality. The end of the connector that fits into the satellite device is fine, but the connection isn't weatherproof well. With a gentle pull and push to insert the connector into the satellite, the wires in the connector were exposed. I had to solder the connector to the wire to protect the connection.
