🎨 Winsor & Newton 30ml Gold Drawing Ink Bottle: Shimmering Elegance for Artistic Excellence Review

I bought this calligraphy ink for sharp pens and have been disappointed so far. I could see that it's good to mix with other inks to add shimmer, but it's not opaque enough to read on its own. Also, they delaminate very quickly, so I had to stir a lot more than other inks just to keep a little opacity. Ink.

I used this to make an anniversary gift for a friend of a friend of mine who wanted his marriage vows written in calligraphy on his first anniversary. The gold ink was beautiful, but I had to shake it every few minutes (<5 minutes) and even have a stick handy to break up the clumps that formed on the underside. But once the ink was mixed and shaken it came out nicely. If you're willing to work with moody ink, the result is worth it.

I bought this mascara thanks to @captainnib on Instagram. He does quick writing tests and uses this ink for his "shining gold". I really like this ink and have used it quite a bit in less than a week. This is definitely an ink you need to be patient with. I give it a good shake upside down before opening, leaving a toothpick in the inkwell to stir between pen loads. I love this ink. It's incredibly metallic, with a distinct reflective sheen that outperforms all other gold inks I've tried - Spectralite, Finetec, Lumiere, Dr. Martin's Iridescent - and it really does look gilded. The ink is bronze particles in solution, so it's actually the metal that gives it a golden look that other inks just can't produce. However, this creates some problems.
