WIX Filters 51794 Spin Filter Review

Supplied in the original box in a bag. Shredded box, top and bottom are not intact, one filter has a small dent. Good price but be serious about the packaging.

This is a Wix filter, what can I say? If you want rubbish buy a frame, it works as it should. It also holds two liters! 1986 Chevrolet Caprice 305.

It seems like a great filter but it didn't fit my 8.1 because of the front driveshaft. The truck is raised and has a differential, but even then it didn't fit. I'll post pics when I cut it and post how it looks.

I bought a heavy duty Wix filter for my 2002 RV with an 8.1 liter Chevy vortex engine and when you run in the mountains it's nice to know you have extra Have protection and extra performance!

If it fits you get an extra liter of oil in the game. On my old 80's 350 hot rod, the bottom of the filter is about level with the oil pan. The manifolds point sideways, not down, so there is no clearance issue here. You may have different results. This is a BIG filter.

Whilst the Wix filters are the best the seller did not pack the 2 liter spin-on filter well and when delivered it came out of its original packaging and rolling around in a padded envelope. . Oil filters must be "clean" and must not come into contact with packaging material. Disappointed to say the least. You must blow through the oil filter to ensure it is free of contaminants.

This part number is for a 7.8" tall, round 3 5/8" spin-on oil filter that filters down to 21 microns. This is NOT 51794R which stands for racing filter. Part number 51794MP is said to be for a box of 12 of them. Thread is 13/16" x 16 tpi and fits 1979 thru 1993 Chevy small block engines. See wixfilters for a full list. According to their website, this is a regular truck SBC filter, not their extreme XP or XE line. This filter is identical in diameter to a regular SBC filter. It fits perfectly…
