The part to buy was great but the quality of the part is really cheap, the plastic worked fine for about 2 weeks but noticed a burnt plastic smell. burns but does not cloud and smells like burnt plastic

I've noticed others saying they have the same problem. The dimmer switch appears to be putting resistance on the electrical wires and begins to heat up quickly. You will smell the melting plastic and it will be hot to the touch. I will buy from another manufacturer.

Do not buy this product. The lights were very dim and you could hardly see them. I was happy to see that it would be lighter than my original judging by the details of the product. However, this is not the case. Installation is easy but not worth the money as the product is not of the quality advertised on the seller page.

This part was easy to install. On one occasion the module had to be illuminated because it was dark, there was a distinct smell of plastic and the wires were very hot. This continued to happen frequently. I touched the module and it felt very hot. I ended up having to remove the module for fear my car would catch fire. Find another manufacturer of this part.

I ordered this switch and didn't expect anything but a working switch. What I got was not just a working switch, but one that closed better, fitted better, and felt more solid. The old switch was worn out, but the new switch was better than other switches I've looked at. When I installed it and turned on the backlight, I was pleasantly surprised at how much better and brighter the backlight got. Overall very happy with the purchase.

Overall this switch works as intended but it's worth noting that after an hour of nightly use mine started to smell hot so next day I took it apart and whatever Fat they used at the factory was already burned out and very dark brown. I fixed this by cleaning all the components with 91% alcohol and reapplying high quality silicone dielectric grease. It still feels hot, but the fat hasn't burned off since. Also, the backlight isn't very strong, so be careful not to bend it when installing it.
