Happy with it - not as hard as American Birch, but very good

Birch dowels I usually buy from a supplier in Portland. I was going out and needed it badly so I bought some at the local hardware store. Big mistake. Dowels sold in hardwood stores are very soft "white wood" and are not even round. I tried these dowels from Revain and am very happy with them. They're not as hard and strong as American birch (the seller describes them as "white birch"), but they're much stronger, rounder, and cheaper. than the anchors sold at your local hardware store. First I got ten of these but three weren't straight so I got ten more and again four weren't good but I needed them anyway and

That means they're just the downside, sometimes wooden bows or warped. First I got ten of these but three weren't bad so I got ten more and again four wasn't very good but I needed them and I needed them so I'm gone now and said no more games . So I ordered 25 so now I get at least 15 perfect ones and the ones bent in the dog's paw I'll use for something else, if not I'll use them to make a fire. Therefore only four stars. Smooth and most were straight as an arrow

I needed some dowels to make hanging rods for the little quilts for the show - quick. I could just go to Home Depot but we were in the snow and it looked like a good deal for the price and with Prime Shipping I would get them before I could buy them in the store. I read a few less than positive reviews complaining that some of them were warped, but figured for the price (and convenience) I'd take the risk. The ones I got were very smooth, I only hand sanded a dowel or two to eliminate the risk…

perfect russell. I've seen other dowels used for.

I used this as part of Russell's Halloween costume from the UP animation film. I attached the balloons to a dowel to mimic the balloons in the movie and also attached a flag to another dowel, then put those dowels in my brown backpack. Along with the rest of my costume. BOOM, perfect Russell. I've seen other pins used to help my growing avocado plants (indoors from store bought avocados!) grow straight and strong. I'm definitely keeping the rest for the inevitable other uses I find for them.
