Blade broke on first use

On first use, the blade chipped. Just a few test runs and I noticed the wood tearing rather than cutting. I stopped, examined the blade, and there was a chunk missing. I've owned a number of hand planes of other brands (from cheap to expensive) and never had an issue like this. I thought with a name like Woodcraft backing it, the quality would be better. However, I was very disappointed. The fit and finish is average at best. Adjustment screws are rough and do not smoothly turn. I could live…

Pros
  • It is quite useful for rabbits and other molding applications.
Cons
  • The plane is quite heavy, and can thus be quite tiring to use for long periods of time

Great price, great tool, a real must for furniture work.

Great plane. Replaced a very old bull nose that i couldnt find iron for. If you do any furniture a good shoulder plane is a must. Well built and the iron back was even flat right out of the box. Little honing and it was taking the finest of shavings in no time. Will probably end up buying the other sizes as needed.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Its wooden handles can get quite slippery after extended use, which can impede precision

Great transaction for my opinion

Product works as advertised. Packed well and was shipped very quickly! Very happy with transaction and would recommend highly!

Pros
  • Adjustable Mouth for Minimizing Tear out -
Cons
  • The plane's size can make it difficult to use in tight spaces or on smaller pieces of wood

Best quality in revain

This is an all around good tool. I am impressed with it and enjoy it. It’s the best quality woodworking tool you can buy on revain.

Pros
  • Good quality product.
Cons
  • The sole of the plane is not entirely flat, which can lead to it getting stuck or dragging during use

Best value in a shoulder plane

Best price/quality mix equals best value. Well made, works perfectly. Sharp blade. And, it is artistically made with clever and interesting hooks, holes and crevices. I carefully inspect all my new tools, and this one rates high in all aspects. As it will be used in art projects and not commercial cabinetmaking, it should last forever.

Pros
  • Hand Planes & Accessories
Cons
  • While the plane is marketed as "medium" in size, it can actually be quite large and unwieldy for some users

Top shelf plane. - my new review

Beautiful looking plane. Well made. Cuts nice right out of the box (after cleaning off the light coating of cosmoline). One of my best planes I have (after my skewed block plane).

Pros
  • Tools & Home Improvement
Cons
  • The depth of cut can be difficult to adjust without accidentally over-adjusting and ruining the piece of wood

Great plane for my opinion

Great plane. I put the blade to my diamond stone to touch up the edge and it works perfectly right out of the box! Thanks for attention.

Pros
  • Works great. Awkward to use.
Cons
  • The blade can dull relatively quickly, which means frequent sharpening is required

Decent quality, but.

I played with one of these for a while lately, and I have to say it's a high jump in quality from the bulk of the Chinese planes sold under various names by Grizzly and other importers. The fit and finish is good, and the ergonomics are nice- not surprising as it's a clone of the English Clifton plane. But here's the thing. For about twenty-five bucks more you can get a Canadian-made Veritas with a better quality blade and even better precision. For about fifty bucks more you can get a US made…

Pros
  • Power & Hand Tools
Cons
  • The wooden body of the plane can be susceptible to warping if it is not properly cared for
