Good knife kit but don't like the scale screws

The blade blank is solid, though it certainly needed a little work sharpening.I hated the screws that came with the kit and went with a simple spring steel rod peened and epoxied into place.

Pros
  • Excellent skinning knife
Cons
  • The blade of the WOODRIVER Woodworking Project Kit Modified Skinner Knife may not hold a sharp edge as well as other high-end knives on the market, particularly when used on tougher materials

useful, but could be better

the price(50% off at the time) was great. i don't like to spend alot on daily carry knives because i use them to death and they receive a lot of sharpening. which raises my major complaint: the thing just doesn't hold an edge that well.the "rivets" are just too short for any substantial handle, and the lanyard hole is just too small . otherwise, for the price, a useful blade.

Pros
  • 8Cr13MoV Stainless Steel
Cons
  • The kit may not include all necessary parts or hardware required for assembly, which could result in an incomplete or ineffective finished product
