4x4 drilling requires 12 passes. 5 passes to drill 4x4 with a 1/2" Powermatic bit. Noticeable difference in quality. I've been a carpenter for two years and have learned not to compromise between price and quality. You get what you pay for. I had to cut a few 3/ 4 inch grooves into a fairly soft hardwood (Red Grandis). This job was painstakingly done with a Powermatic slotting machine (available here at Revain).
