The sound quality is excellent, the headphones pick up speech noise that my normal headphones don't pick up. I've found that I've transcribed much faster and rewound a lot less when using them. However, the right speaker stopped working completely after a few days. I liked them so much while working that I will be returning the first pair and replacing them with others. If the second pair has the same problem I will not buy again but I hope the defect was just an accident. They get three stars…

Great for transcription

I bought these headphones because the ones that go under my chin don't really fit my small head. They fit great and are adjustable so my husband and kids can use them for computer stuff too. I'm deducting 1 star because the headphones really start to hurt my ears after a while. I don't know why as they are not too tight but when I finished transcribing my ears hurt a lot. I also deducted 1 star because the seal around one of the headphones keeps coming loose. It doesn't affect performance that…

As a transcriptionist, I would suggest trying it out!

I work at home as a typist so having great sound is important. I started out with cheap headphones but realized I needed something better for those nasty voices. I've jumped back and forth between my cheap headphones and these new WordSlinger headphones and I can tell you the difference. WordSlinger is DEFINITELY louder! Most of the time I turn the master volume down to 20 and the hub volume down to 10 because the headphones are so loud! I also noticed that I could hear a little better. I…

Lots of volume. accepts computer headsets

I became a freelance court correspondent more than thirty years ago, and all these years later I still handle my own court clerkships. These headphones really help to eliminate noise, interference etc from recordings and actually add a lot of bass to the voice. They are easy to use, just plug in the USB port and you're good to go. You can actually turn the volume up A LOT so be careful the first time you plug it in - ha! For example, when I first tried them, I had such a lousy record that I…

Really high expectations for this veteran Transcriptionist/QA.

Having worked as a medical transcriptionist for quality control for many, many years, I have researched this product ad nauseam. Here are the factors I consider when choosing hardware that's critical to my ability to create accurate decrypted files, and how this particular headset fits the bill. I really wanted to love them but after only 4 hours of use they come back. Very disappointing to say the least. Comfort: Every headset I use stays in my ears for at least 8 hours a day or more. When…
