I use this to mount on the cab of my truck when I back my duck onto the dock when it's still dark. Very bright! More like a wide flood beam than a spot beam.

Purchased to make boarding a fishing boat easier at night. Also, I wanted to move the boat lantern around slightly so I could tinker around a bit.

I use it for portable tasks around the house, especially for lighting in places that an emergency lamp or flashlight can't reach and is too dim to help. Connected to a garden tractor type battery, it's quite portable. It also stands alone or attached to a metal object, freeing both hands to get the job done.

My biggest disappointment was the lack of cable length. Although I haven't used it extensively, there seems to be a decent floodlight pattern. At first I was skeptical about the strength of the magnet, but it holds up better than I thought. Again, I haven't used it as extensively as others, but so far I'm happy with it.

The luminous flux is large, but the magnet base is not made of rare earth magnets and is not very strong. I use them on my tractor and they work great in terms of light output, but I've had to supplement the support system with tie-down straps or they tend to come loose while driving. I'm not talking about four-wheelers, just the usual bumps on a dirt road.

Good light when you need bright light. The magnet is not that strong. It tends to fall off when the car jumps or hits a small bump. I use mine for work and hang it on the door to light up the car. For a simple mechanic who wants to start the engine, this will do. I wouldn't recommend it for SUVs that want to use it as an extra light. The magnet is not strong enough to withstand the terrain.
