It's sturdy, installation requires removing factory screws and purchasing screws from a hardware store. factory ones are not long. Then, when you don't want to keep it locked for a ride, it's extremely inconvenient to open without a handle or pull tab. You really need a key to pick it up.

Easy installation for a little peace of mind. If someone really wants your console, they can rip it out with a few tools. It will take them more time than they want to break into a car, I guarantee it. The only recommendation is to use longer screws with a torx or a special head instead of a regular cross, which can be unscrewed quickly.

I would like to thank other buyers for their feedback and screw size suggestions! I immediately went and bought #8x1 screws (I could only find black ones at the hardware store). As I write this... I can draw maybe four new ones! As you can see there is NO HANDLE to lift the lid. I bought a hook magnet again to use as a keyless lid lifter.

Availability The device is very durable and by the time a thief wants to take it will be very difficult to remove and require the right tools. One of the main issues is that the screws that come with it are Phillips, which is easy to remove. I suggest buying #6 of our #8 x 1 Torex bolts or even better Snake Eye bolts and then filling the holes. All in all a great product for reliable security.

Installation was easy. 4 screws loosened, inserted and screwed. The only reason I didn't give it 5 stars is because I had to buy longer screws at my local hardware store. The ones that came with the kit were short. I have a 2020 Wrangler Unlimited Sahara JL. I bought #8 3/4 length screws. It matched the carving pattern and kicked in immediately. The fit was perfect. It locks and unlocks easily. However, a thief with a matching Torx screwdriver can easily remove the cover by prying the console's simple button lock. The advantage, of course, is to slow down the possible release of the lock. This is good value for money, but be aware that this is more of an illusion of security. The four attachment points are made of soft plastic, so they're easy to remove (but does the thief know about them?). You will need a T20 bit to remove the factory screws (at least for the 2021 Gladiator). I didn't find the included hardware to be very good, so I decided to replace it with 16mm screws and matching washers. The opening for accessing the USB port is very large.
