Description of 🚴 Maximize Comfort and Performance with Volt Saddle: The Ultimate Cycling Seat

Medium level of padding thickness provides ample support to make the Volt our most popular Mountain saddle. Strategically placed gel inserts in the areas where sit bones contact the saddle, provide additional support to prevent pinching of soft tissues while also cradling the sit bones in a comfortable position on the saddle. An upward curved tail and gentle drop to the nose provide something to push against while pedaling. 142mm x 265mm. Microfiber cover/ flex-tuned shell/ hex + gel Padding/ Cromoly rail/ 310g. New Helix padding + gel inserts create the plushest saddle padding option.

Comfortable but bent rails

Very comfortable saddle but rails bent after a few rides. Update: I contacted WTB and they emailed me straight away that they would ship a replacement. I will provide an updated review once I receive a replacement.

Pros
  • One year trial
Cons
  • Frequency

Too hyped in Sports

Wasn't a fan. But deaf after 1.5 hours. The nose continued to dig into my male parts and I found it harder to move in the saddle. Bad for me, good for those who want a seat that encloses them. The construction appears to be of poor quality, with only a couple of braces holding the material covering the seat. I returned the WTB Volt and got the SDG Radar saddle and I couldn't be happier. Ten times better construction and comfort.

Pros
  • Hands-free operation
Cons
  • There are problems

Perfect for me

I now have a chromoly finished WTB Volt on three bikes. Gravel, thick and highway. A VERY personal choice, but for me the Volt works perfectly. It's plush but not too soft and I can ride for hours in comfort. It's very well done. I drove a lot of kilometers with it and never had a single problem. Overall I love this saddle and will probably use this model forever. For me it's perfect.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Nothing

Very comfortable best in Parts & Components

I had a Specialized saddle that I rode for many years and suddenly my sit bone on my left side felt like this every time I drove it, bruises or the like. I probably put 10,000 miles on this saddle but it still felt responsive so I put it aside for a couple of weeks and tried again. The pain wasn't that bad anymore but it was still there which is why I ordered this saddle. 100% comfort immediately. I was skeptical before getting on the saddle because the padding was very thin, but it's actually…

  • Satisfied so far

Great trail mountain bike saddle

I've ridden my bikes with WTB Silverado saddles for years and recently a 1982 Silverado saddle broke on my Niner Jet RDO. I used to use narrow widths but checked my saddles and used the WTB fit guide to choose a medium width. Perfect solution. To fit better. The Volt has more padding than the Silverado saddle, which flattens out after a few years. Titanium absorbs shock from hard riding. After more than 1.5 hours of driving, I no longer get back or neck pain like I used to. The whale-shaped…

  • Decent performance

2020 and 2019 comparison by parts and components

2020 and 2019 comparison I have a WTB Volt 150 in all price ranges and 2019 models except the Carbon Rail model. I found the Titanium Rail model with DNA padding to be MUCH superior in comfort to any other Volt model. Smaller models are lined more firmly and are a little less comfortable. Unpacking the 2020, I immediately laid my hand on the 2020 model and noticed that it looked a lot more like the less-comfortable 2019 Volt models with stiffer padding and finish (sub-titanium). :( If I could…

Pros
  • Easy assembly
Cons
  • poorly thought out

Relatively comfortable

I think the Volt is sort of an improved replacement for the Rocket V, which has been my favorite for years. I use the narrowest Volt on a track bike to ride a Zwift. It is narrower than the recommended WTB website tool. It's a little different from Rocket - thinner, with a more modern design. Volt with metal bars represents good value for money as at the time of writing the lighter bar options show a slight reduction in weight. Comfort largely depends on the shape of your pelvic bones and how…

Pros
  • Top marks for grip and durability from testers
Cons
  • I have no real complaints about it, everything is fine

Saddle up and drive off! at Sports

I've had just over a month to ride the WTB Volt Narrow Steel Black saddle (W065-0584). I decided to upgrade my 12 year old standard Bontrager saddle. I chose steel because of the price and have never bought or ridden a WTB saddle. I went to the WTB website and used the tool there to enter my physical information to determine what saddle size would be best for me. My first impression when I received the saddle was that it looked good and was well made. The all-black microfiber finish looks…

Slim fit, best for cycling

Update from Entity Assault (by Polygon) rides 12-20 miles, heats up to 114°. NO need for lined shorts. it's worth every penny! I have a 100mm ischium and a Narrow.best upgrade for my hardtail. No regret. *Update: I've upgraded this review to 5 stars, which is RARE and only given when a product exceeds my expectations! Ran 40 miles in 100 degrees on slick trails near Scottsdale. After about 27 miles I started to feel a bit irritated in my right sit bone to the point where it became annoying…
