even better than duct tape

This title makes a bold statement. I love duck tape. But. Duck Tape cannot withstand extreme temperatures and pressures as much as it can. I bought it because I had a refrigerant leak in the air conditioning of my car. Since it would cost several hundred dollars to replace the part, I decided to give it a try. Well it works. My air conditioner no longer drips. I had to use a ton of this tape. but I have a cold air conditioner and it hasn't cost me hundreds of dollars to fix. It's also holding…

Military quality - seriously!

The cord on my 25 year old DeWalt drill is badly worn exposing the wires underneath. I was thinking about replacing that great drill with a new one, but decided to try X-Treme Tape TPE-X36ZLB silicone tape first. Good move! This material is identical to what I used to repair military aircraft electrical harnesses and cables in Thailand a few years ago. Overlap. The 1" wide elastic is not tacky to the touch but rather sticks firmly to itself without heat or glue. I put the second layer on top of

Great for attaching bike lights

Most lights and device mounts on my e-bikes are attached with some sort of rubber band or o-ring, but they still tend to slide over bumps. Which for me can be annoying, distracting and dangerous at the wrong time. Putting some of this X-Treme tape on my bike frame right where my lights and gadgets are mounted added just the right amount of grip to hold them. rock solid! The best part is there is no messy residue when you need to remove them. Just use a sharp knife to gently cut the tape and it…

This should be in every handyman/mechanic's bag

In the process of restoring my 300ZX; and decided to clean up the engine bay while the engine is not running. My wiring harness was wrapped in blue tape that didn't match my car's overall color scheme and was starting to show its age. I spent some time looking for high temperature tape and came across a silicone self-adhesive tape that I had never heard of. It is very easy to install and looks great afterwards. See attached picture. Blue loom left before application and wrapped with X-treme…

After waiting just a few months for my husband to fix our leaking sink pipe, I said a few uncomfortable things to myself and decided to fix it myself. I'm not a plumber. I lack the tools. My husband has many tools, but there is no way I would ask him to use them. because then I would have to explain why I need them**. So I needed a solution that: 1.) requires no tools; 2.) Being something I could do myself; and 3.) work. I knew it would arrive today so I was looking forward to my postman :) I…

Great self-fusing elastic

This is a self-adhesive elastic. This means that it is ONLY attached to itself. You wrap the item to be taped while at the same time stretching the tape as you wrap it, compressing the wrapped item and causing the tape to stick and fuse to itself. Unlike any other type of tape, this one doesn't stick to anything else, it's held around the object by the tension of the tape. I bought it to use as a grip tape for a stick grip. For that it works great. It has good friction with the hand without the

How did I go without this product in my shop, car or backpack for so many years? Every day I think of new ways to use this material. For example, today I filled a small aerosol can of repellent for my backpack and was concerned that the lid would unscrew a bit which could result in a leak. Well I pulled out my clear version of the same tape and wrapped it around the top where it will be screwed on, now I'm sure it will hold. Rescue to secure a new footing. The day before my plastic plug on the…
