XPG 3200MHz 288 Pin PC4 25600 AX4U32008G16A DCBKD45 Review

So I confess I didn't know I ordered "RGB RAM". For the uninitiated, it's RAM with RGB LEDs mounted on top of it, which, when closed inside the case where no one can see them, emits blinking lights. I think it's for cool people with clear business. Well that's good, but here's what sucks. these are really high. In my case they don't fit at all because it's a small form factor device and the tolerances are tight. So an ordinary ram will do, but this one won't. I think I'll have to try heating up

I tried this XPG DDR4 3600MHz on both AMD and Intel PCs. Memory timings 18-22-22 when enabled in BIOS: XMP for Intel and DOCP for AMD in memory settings. Most motherboards do not automatically enable XMP/DOCP, so keep that in mind when installing this memory. I first tested this on an Intel i9 10850k with an Asus z490 Hero motherboard. I recently added this RAM (two 8GB sticks) to the system and it worked great with it. I tested it at 3200 and 3600 speeds and was able to run it on both with no crashes or issues. I personally don't understand why RGB lighting is such a thing, but it doesn't really bother me either. I haven't had any issues with this RAM at all since installing it. It's a bit pricey at $85 as of this writing, but it's really average for DDR4 3600 RAM. I use it myself on an AMD system. Recommended.
