I once fried a chicken on it. And I really liked how the chicken came out. I would buy this whirlwind again if there was nothing but fried chicken.

The first vortex arrived damaged. I emailed the seller and he responded within hours with a solution and an apology. In fact, they handled the replacement incredibly quickly. I'll definitely check out what else they have.

Okay, I was a bit skeptical about Vortex, but after a few BBQs with Vortex I fell in love with it. I'm doing more with it than I originally thought I could do with it. I still think it's a bit more expensive than it should be, but if it holds up it might be worth it.

I'm trying to put a whole chicken in the center of a pot with charcoal outside, lots of charcoal because I'm cooking over two hours so a little more charcoal outside of that swirl would cook it a little faster , but it did a good job of preventing fires.

I was surprised how small it is. But it was made of high quality stainless steel. After "burning" the stickers and oil, I used it for indirect heat chicken quarters the next day. Half filled with lit coals and a piece of apple tree in the middle and we had succulent, delicious smoked chicken. I love this product so far. I'll see how long that lasts.

Made some wings, flats and shins using Vortex and a 22 inch Weber Kettle. Grate them and leave them in the fridge for 4 hours. Light the grill with charcoal inside the Vortex, small side up. Ten minutes per side and at an internal temperature of 170 degrees, they are perfectly cooked. There was still a lot of heat left, so I put in a pack of Tony Pacos' Hungarian hot dogs. Seven minutes and they're done. The best accessories. Its worth it.
