It works, it's accurate and well made.

I bought this from CWI to check root gaps. It's accurate and well built. I would definitely buy this again if I lost mine, which I probably will. It would be nice if it came with a case, but that's not a deal breaker.

Pros
  • Test, measure and inspect
Cons
  • Not sure

The instructions say it's good to check the wrong hole. If you don't sharpen the edges it will work for the hole as the integer is the radius and the edge of that rectangle won't match. I am a machinist with 30 years of experience. This is easily remedied by sharpening the edges to a point. If you want to use it to measure the distance between two flat planes then it's great. If you know these details, it's worth the money.

Pros
  • Industrial & Scientific
Cons
  • Available in white only

Taper gauges are inherently inaccurate due to their thickness when measuring a hole rather than a parallel slot. Holes on this thicker gauge. The actual opening of 4.82mm is measured on this gauge as 4.4mm on its scale due to the thickness of the cone reducing the measured diameter. Most reputable companies will provide you with a correction scale so you can roughly adjust the reading for a more accurate estimate of hole size. I like the dual scale on one gauge, both scales are fairly accurate…

Pros
  • Dimensional measurement
