Very impressed so far

Installed these on a 2015 Mazda3 Hatchback and am delighted I chose them over the stock handlebars. I installed them along with the landing pad, horizontal towers and windshield. The Yakima system is expensive, but you get what you pay for. Cons: Installation was a bit painful and instructions could have been better. Pros: Once installed, this thing was reliable. This is clearly going nowhere. There is no flex, rattle, or movement of any kind. I haven't tried it without the windscreen, but wind

Excellent pads, short screws

I purchased Yakima Landing Pads (#6) to attach my existing Yakima Control Towers and Crossbars to a new camper setup. There is no alternative if you want to remain compatible. They go perfectly with the old Control Towers. Installation was relatively easy. The main problem was that the screws included in the kit were not long enough to fit through the roof of the RV hull. Most RV hulls now have a thicker roof for strength and insulation. The included screws are only 1.5 inches long. I went to a

Great kit! on Sports

Used these Landing Pad 6s on my 2000 TJ Wrangler Hardtop as a permanent mounting option for new Skyline Towers and 50" Corebars. Installation was a bit difficult at first but only because you want your stuff to line up correctly before you drill 8 holes in the roof!Double or triple check your measurements! And I drew a pencil outline right on my roof around the landing pad after checking my measurements to make it easier to make aligning them again after drilling. I found the kit to be easy toโ€ฆ

Installation on Subaru Impreza Wagon

Wanted to share my impressions about Subaru Impreza WRX Wagon 2012 (and Impreza up to 2012) installation. Installation is simple - one screw per tower into the factory holes in the black stripe along the roof. Note, however, that the base of the landing pad will be in contact with the paint on either side of the strip. It's rubberized and theoretically shouldn't move much, so paint damage is unlikely, but I put on a 3M screen protector first for added reassurance. The idea is that you screwโ€ฆ

Great parts, best in the sport

These landing pads are designed for use where there is access to the underside of the vehicle roof. They work great on RV hulls. The beauty of these bases, however, is that no matter what car you buy and what factory vehicle it comes with, you can install these bases and use any Yakima accessories you want. Of course you always have little "warts" on the roof afterwards, but who cares. I used them on my 2002-2006 second generation Honda CRV to get the longer front to rear crossbar spacing Iโ€ฆ
