I mixed up how many I ordered

The two boxes ordered are from two different shipments a week apart. They work great. Didn't feel like an order but didn't have time to wait for shipping so I make my own.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Not sure

Extended mounting clamp

I have used this product for many years so this is an optional order. I think this is the best option for the elderly who are loading a heavy kayak onto a car roof. The mounting clamp is more convenient than the older model.

Pros
  • Slim design
Cons
  • No Automatic

Robust and stable, matching the body.

Good bassinet, conforms well to the body and has good support to prevent oil jamming. I use it on a truck cab carrying 2 15ft kayaks on a short flatbed. I wish they were less expensive but they did a good job of keeping the boats stable and reliable.

Pros
  • Amazing
Cons
  • I don't like anything about it at all, it's ok

The rear rollers are fine but the front paddles are not.

We had a Hobie Tandem Mirage for the first time this weekend that buckled under the weight of the kayak. The rear wheels are good but I wouldn't buy the front paddles again. I will write to the company and see if they send them back or replace them with another set of rollers.

Pros
  • Free for educational purposes
Cons
  • Minor repairability

Rod adapters are missing

When I started the installation, I found that there were no rod adapters. I bought the Yakima Handroll and the adapters were included. Returns are going to be a big problem, so I'm going to order the $10 adapters from the Yakima website. It's hard to believe that something so simple could be missing that would render it completely unusable.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction

Major Design Error

I like how the sailor holds the kayak when the strap is tight. Works very well. Tested under hard braking with no skidding. The problem with excessive flexing is that the mounting system will be displaced by the load, thus creating a torque that rotates the stanchion about the cross member. I have square poles and thought they would be fine, but every time we load the kayak we flip the glider back to the upright position. Huge design flaw that needs to be fixed. We are considering switching toโ€ฆ

Pros
  • Absolutely Amazing!
Cons
  • Not bad, but...
