Hand-Blown, Lead Free Borosilicate Glass. Beautiful design made of a glass body, bamboo and glass lid, and bamboo and metal swivel handle (plastic free!). 40oz/1200ml - perfect size for 1 or 2 people. Can be used on both electric or gas stove. Low flame preferred, metal wire included for use on surface elements. Warning, metal pieces can become hot when heat is applied. Not for use in dishwasher or microwave.

Disappointing Decorative Kettle for Kitchen

This kettle may look pretty on the countertop, but that's about all it's good for. As my tests showed, its heat-retaining abilities are below average and the handle becomes too hot to touch while boiling. Not worth the Home and Kitchen cost.

This glass teapot cracked and leaked hot water after only two months of use.

I bought this 40oz Yama Glass Chinese Teapot about 3 months ago. A few weeks ago, a crack suddenly formed in it and hot water began to flow. We have not exposed it to extreme temperatures or mechanical damage. We had the same kettle over 3 years ago and were so happy with it that when it broke we bought a new one exactly the same. Fragile, no plastic, nifty handle

I was looking for a plastic-free kettle. Also considered stainless steel but prefers glass for aesthetic reasons and to see what I'm brewing, like herbal tea. Nicely made but fragile. I left the kettle on once too long because it didn't have a whistle. Then he did it again and the glass broke from the thermal shock. Do not pour cold or even hot water on it. Let it cool down.
