AMAZING SOUND! - Home audio

These speakers have very good bass, especially when you connect them to any Pyle 75W receiver (also ordered from Revain). up to face value. Yes, try some house music and you will be amazed by the bass and clear highs! There's also a Yamaha 7.1 home theater (also from Revain) so I'm happy to see that Yamaha's sound quality is maintained across all the product lines I've bought to date!

Pros
  • Ideal for a small home
Cons
  • boring package

Yamaha Surround Speakers

I bought several versions of these speakers for our living room surround sound system. These are very good speakers for the price. Here they were cheaper than anything I found at Best Buy. They look good on the ceiling. I also built them into the wall and was able to paint the front grille to match the wall. It turned out very nicely, and then I just put the mesh right on top of the speaker. It was easy to pull out and put back in. The sound is very good.

Pros
  • Sturdy construction
Cons
  • I vaguely remember

Great speakers, very powerful

I installed four of these speakers in my medium sized kitchen. You can play much louder than necessary. The clarity of the sound is remarkable, even at high volumes. I am very happy with my purchase. However, you shouldn't expect these speakers (or any other speakers) to produce decent bass when listening to bass-heavy music on their own - you'll need a subwoofer as an add-on for that. Would I buy again and will probably fill the rest of my house one day.

Pros
  • Easy to use
Cons
  • Expensive

Great ceiling speaker for the home.

I have installed two of these kits and am happy with them. Yamaha makes good in-ceiling/outdoor speakers and have become my favorite. They're clean, have decent smooth response and aren't afraid to deliver when you need to crank them up. The larger cone size helps in this regard. I built airtight boxes above them in the attic to control the tone a bit, about 2 cubic feet each. A note on installation - the mounting arms are very fragile and will break if you don't do it by hand. I've learned…

Easier to install than I thought and worth the price

I bought a house with ceiling speakers. Ann, you know one of the damn things had a blown tweeter. It was a surround speaker but very annoying. My main problem with buying new ones was the fear of ruining the ceiling if I tried to pull the old ones out and put the new ones in. To my surprise, the instructions were clear and easy to follow. I pulled out the old ones, vacuumed the insulation, plugged in the new ones, positioned the tweeter toward the seats, and pulled the covers open. It was easy…

Reliable speakers with good throw, if a little light based on

I bought these speakers to mount on the ceiling of my new house. The speaker setup is simple and reliable. The template provided is useful for cutting just the drywall required for a clean and tidy installation. In terms of sound quality, I like these speakers but I don't like them. The speakers are equipped with a central, tightly tunable tweeter. I tried changing the orientation and listening for the differences but couldn't find them. Speaker range is good, but some bass tones are difficult…

Pros
  • Very impressive

  • Easily repairable

Phenomenal speaker set for surround and thru sound

I wanted good, solid loudspeakers for sound reinforcement throughout the house, which offer this possibility unconditionally. I read some reviews that the bass wasn't great, but I'm not complaining about that at all. , even at lower volumes, the sound is very rich from low to high. If you turn up the volume, they also get really harsh. (And note that I'm there in the audiophile ranking :). The installation is very easy. It comes with a form that is pretty basic. The covers look very neat on the

Pros
  • All right!
Cons
  • You could have chosen a newer model

Excellent speakers

Be careful what you buy. A $125 in-ceiling speaker shouldn't be compared to a premium floor-standing speaker, but it's a pretty decent effort from Yamaha. The speakers are covered with fiberglass insulation. By the way, Yamaha suggests covering the speakers with fiberglass to improve their performance. They don't explain why this improves the sound, I can only assume that it reduces low frequency reflections from the roof and back to other parts of the ceiling. There is a grille on the back of…
