Predominantly black, almost no gold tinge

This ink is predominantly black. I was expecting more gold shimmer, but this is a dull dark gold shimmer. Not at all like the photo.

very pretty. Excellent quality ink

Excellent ink. I use a dip pen and it flows great in it. Comes with a little tiny ball bearing deep in the bottle! Shake it before use and your letters will have a slight golden sheen. They're still black, just a little gold shimmer. It's thin and very, very beautiful. Excellent quality ink. I have used several brands of ink in my dip pens and this surprised me that it has become one of my favorites!

you're kidding, aren't you?

Let me preface that I'm not a calligrapher, but I'm the only one in the family with legible writing, so the burden of card writing is mine. The most disappointing ink I have ever bought. I shake the bottle before each use. I've tried flexible pens and brushes on parchment, bristol, linen, regular cotton, and carbon paper. You'll get a slight glow, and only if you shine a bright light on it. I really don't understand how it has 5 stars across the board. I would recommend renaming it a toxic…

Beautiful - pay attention to the paper

I really like this ink. It's smooth and fluid, but rich and glides well. I have one caveat - gold levels really seem to be paper based. I'm an etegami artist and tried this ink on watercolor paper and etegami paper (e.g. sumi-e-ish?) in the same session and they looked completely different. On Etegami cards it was gold with a black outline, on watercolor paper it was almost black, but with an indistinct metallic sheen. If this is what you were looking for. You have to shake it really well to…

Ink separated and not mixed

For two days I shook the ink for 5 minutes. Bottled on the third. After emptying the container, I felt great heaviness. I opened the container to find that the walls and floor were coated in thick, unmixed black and gold pigment. Even after scraping off some of the pigments I could get my hands on, they don't mix with the ink residue. I even found a marble shaker built into the pigment. I've seen other reviews where it wasn't possible to get the gold effect. This is the probable reason. Most of
