Instead of spending $250 on a surge protector I decided to monitor my RV's power supply with this handy little device. If the reading is too low, I turn off the instruments until the level is safe. Works like a champ!

I leave it plugged in on my camper. It displays real-time volts that match my randomness so I can see if the campsite has enough power for my rig. It even shows a few voltage drops when the AC power is turned on. This is a great little device that helps protect the electronics in my rig. I will definitely buy more if the need arises.

Some say this device reads data inaccurately. I didn't even bother to bring it home. I sent it straight to work where I had calibrated DMMs on hand to see for myself. Took it apart and plugged it straight into my desktop where it read less than 1 volt from my meter. I used it for several hours to check the voltage in my RV. Now it is used as an incredibly bright night light.

What a great little plug in the DVM. It's small and unobtrusive, and best of all, it's adjustable, giving you reasonably accurate readings. I say this simply because it's strictly three digits so only the voltage closest to +/- 0.5 VAC is shown. This is normal for most applications.
