Comparable with Schaaf Set

Completely comparable with Schaaf Set. I'm a total newbie and bought both for comparison purposes. I have an admittedly untrained eye, but the quality seemed pretty close. However, I chose Schaaf because the grips were heavier and I liked the feel. Not a bad option if you want to save money. But the case is not in order - the instruments all fall out of the frame and rattle.

Pros
  • Wood carving tools
Cons
  • Very expensive

Goldhammer wood carving tools exceeded my expectations.

I was told that Yellowhammer Woodcarving Tools are intermediate level tools used primarily by hobbyists and beginners. But I found the quality far better than what I was told. The tools came with a sharp factory edge, after touching them up they were razor sharp and cut like butter. And the handle shape is comfortable and easy to grip. I recommend Yellowhammer Carving Tools to anyone looking for quality tools at a great price!

Well made but not finished out of the box, One nick damaged

Good - surprisingly well made for the price, sheath and blade covers are a nice feature. Crate. They require at least a final polish or grind to be sharp enough for use. It's actually not that bad, but you won't be told that beforehand, and polishing can take hours to get right. The #12-6mm V notch had a crooked blade where one part of the V was much thicker than the other so it would result in an uneven cut if you could sharpen it. I would send it back but I tried to fix it myself. Bad idea as
