If someone wants to steal your $500 Yeti, they can yank it off anything you attach a cable to. The thief doesn't care if he damages your boat, he gets the cool box anyway. Lock to be close when camping makes sense. I'd rather steal my fridge than damage my boat. It's ok, but not for me. I returned it.

In a public place where more than 6 Yetis were stolen, mine was left behind by bandits. It's all because he was locked up at a post in the area where we camped. It's a sad day to lock up the damn cooler, but I was glad to be back in our area in the morning and my cooler was still there. Many thanks to Master Lock and Yeti for developing this amazing gadget!

Just wanted to add a few photos to show that this is a genuine Yeti product. The lock comes with two keys, and the metal rod that goes through the radiator is covered in some sort of rubber so it doesn't ruin the radiator. The cable lock is thicker than I expected, which is good for me. Just a little more rest. I understand someone will get my Yeti if they try to steal it, but that will be more deterrent than most and is fine if you just lock it in the back of a truck or on a camping/beach…

Decided to drive a truck to a soccer game. We used this cable to lock up our Yeti before play. When we got back to the truck, the Yeti was gone, but the thief was kind enough to leave the cord and our old Coleman fridge behind. The cable is not cut. The lock must have been broken.
