Description of YG 1 Uncoated Roughing Non Center Diameter Cutting Tools in Milling Accessories

Roughing end mills have chip-breaking cutting edges that remove material in less time than conventional end mills. Fine-pitch tooth design and tool geometry are suitable for machining on a range of materials. Number of flutes varies by diameter for optimum feed and cut rate. Cobalt steel resists abrasion and high cutting temperatures, and has higher feed rates than high-speed steel. Uncoated (bright) tools have no additional surface treatment or coating for use on a range of materials.

Efficient & Durable Roughing Cutting Tool

Based on my experience, this cutting tool is a game-changer in the milling accessories category. Its uncoated design allows for high-speed material removal and the roughing feature ensures excellent chip evacuation, making this tool highly efficient and powerful. Its durability is unparalleled, but the lack of a center diameter may not be suitable for all milling applications..

Pros
  • efficient, durable, powerful
Cons
  • lacks center diameter for some applications

the cutter still ran fine (it threw out minimal burr)

I used this end mill to make full diameter cuts in 1/4 inch thick 304 stainless steel. Using mist lubrication, I was able to complete the job, which meant about 120 inches of cuts. Even after completion, the milling cutter still worked perfectly (only a minimal burr thrown). I tried a solid carbide roughing end mill first and this one was much better.

Pros
  • End Mill
Cons
  • Available in black only
