Three stars - Lenses for SLR cameras

The covers were roughly made. Not checked yet. Update: Tested with Canon EOS 6D + 70-200mm f/4 L IS autofocus (AF) WORKS even at f/8 (2 stops down). Indoor photos must be on a tripod (otherwise there is noise from the high ISO) Image quality is better than I thought. Pros: * inexpensive * autofocus still works at f/8 (with my 6D) * sharper than I thought Cons: * roughly made caps (poor fit) * overexposure issues as mentioned by others (but you can easily adjust +-EV to your camera) * There is…

Does your lens fit?

I was keen to try this product to compare with the Canon 2X TV Adapter. It looks the same in the photos so I thought why not? The package it came in looked good and was well packed. Build quality and weight were good, and it fit perfectly in the body of my T7i and in the EF-RF adapter for my Canon EOS R. But no EF-mount lens I've tried has fit the other way. I've tried Canon and Sigma lenses. As if the holes for the bayonet blades were too small. And I confirmed that there was a large enough…

Worked great twice. Might be worth buying Canon

. This worked great with my Canon 80D and Canon EF 70-200 F4. However, I've only used it twice, taking about 200 photos in total. On the third try to use it I got "Er 01, there is a problem with the camera and lens communication. Clean the lens contacts." The contacts looked great and I tried cleaning them to no avail. This was a real bummer as I really needed the extra range in the event I was shooting at. The teleconverter stopped working properly during the warranty period, but when I…

Superb replica of the Canon Extender 2.0x III

This appears to be a direct copy of the Canon 2.0x III Extender which costs 2.5 times as much. I've compared this to the Kenko 2x Pro 300 teleconverter (which is one of the best) and by comparison it has better edge sharpness and much reduced chromatic aberration. In fact, it eliminates the CA at the edge of the frame that you get with most teleconverters. I can't say for sure that it's as good as the original Canon version, but it's pretty damn good. If I ever get my hands on a Canon I'll…

Doesn't appear to be compatible with the newer Canon 5D IV and 5DSR

Upon arrival I immediately tested the extender on my 5D IV and 5DSR with multiple lenses including the Canon 70-200 ISII. I was very surprised to find that the sharpness was better than I expected and I found the lack of contrast to be manageable. Autofocus was slower than usual, which was acceptable, but with every lens and camera, exposure was anywhere from 3 to 5 stops over exposure. Not at all suitable for sports or wildlife photography with changing lighting. Maybe this is an isolated…

Amazing results with a Canon mirrorless camera

After reading all the negative reviews on here I don't think I've ever been willing to return a product without even receiving it. I have a Canon R6 mirrorless camera and a Sigma 100-400 "Contemporary" zoom lens. I decided it was worth trying the Yongnuo as it costs less than a third of the price of the Canon 2.0x III. I have a number of their flashes and triggers and have been consistently happy with their quality and price. Even the Yongnuo datasheet reproduced here on Revain suggests that…

Of the budget brands, Yongnuo is the best.

So if you've got a lens that makes distant objects appear big, this handy little device brings them even closer. Good Good. Seriously, I've been a fan of Yongnuo products since I first used their flashes and then added them to my arsenal. At last count I have 5 triggers, 1 controller and 6 flashes (different models). Out of all these devices, only 2 flashes failed and that's because I dropped them. I can hardly blame the company for not being able to drop proof their flashes 10 feet onto…
