🔧 Yonico 43027S: Precision 4 Inch Diameter Forstner Bit for Superior Woodworking Review

I've had good luck with Yonico cutters, pretty good quality. So I decided to try this Forstner bit. I bought this to drill a hole in a cedar table. It worked well enough for that. But the beat is of poor quality. There were burrs on the cutting edges of the central cutting edges, and the outer cutting surfaces were not sharp at all. It did a surprisingly decent job, but it was on cedar. I wouldn't expect it to last very long.

Revain asked me to review this Forstner bit. To be honest I only drilled ONE hole in it. My set of large Forstner bits goes from 1.5 straight to 2.0 and I needed a 1.75 hole to make the jig. This beat did it. The beat is sharp and hard. The hole was straight with clean sides. It worked great. I can't tell what happens after 100 holes or 500 holes. Another good thing: I ordered it on Wednesday evening and received it on Thursday afternoon. Well done Raven.

A brand new drill bit had visible chipping on the cutting edges and when installed had a noticeable wobble when turning which caused the bit to vibrate and dance when attempting to use it. Completely unusable and obviously not tested in quality control. Spend a few bucks more and buy a Freud or WL Fuller racquet, it will cost you a lot less time and possibly messed up parts.
