Description of Yukon Gear PK Installation Differential

Yukon pinion installation kits are a terrific solution for gear installation on lower mileage vehicles where the carrier bearings and races can be reused. This kit uses Timken bearings and races along with a high quality pinion seal and small parts. Included in this kit are the pinion bearings and races, pilot bearing (if applicable), crush sleeve (if applicable), complete pinion shim kit, pinion nut, thread locker, and marking compound with brush. Yukon does extensive research for each application to make sure your kit will arrive with all the correct parts you need to install your pinion gear.

The gear nut is too short to snap into the keyway.

YUKON'S kit not impressed. The rest of the components were fine. A washer must be added to raise the nut to the correct height. The Toyota OEM nut has a washer built into the base of the nut. I see Yukon selling the right nut for $8.

Pros
  • Permanent test results
Cons
  • Fits

Yukon quality kit for Dana 25 axle

Pricey kit but Yukon put together a collection of quality axle conversion parts. I bought this for a Dana 25 front axle on my early CJ5. I also bought a Yukon rebuild kit (YK D44-19) for my rear Dana 44. Very impressed and would not hesitate to purchase more Yukon kits for future projects. Buying and installing quality USA made parts like the Timken supplied bearings is a big deal to me and I hope my old Jeep lasts another 60 years.

Pros
  • Quality construction
Cons
  • Requires socket
