Apparently they're plastic, not ox horn. The big one came with broken teeth. Very thin plastic teeth. Likewise the pen.

I recommend these combs in a set to all owners of thick hair. The comb with wider teeth detangles hair with minimal breakage, while the styling comb glides smoothly over hair. No scratching of the scalp.

Not a bad comb but I have no idea why it smells like melted plastic and dead skin amongst other bad smells straight out of the box. I tried cleaning it and left it in dish soap overnight with no help. It still smells awful and was thrown away.

I bought them mainly for the one who has wider comb gaps but the narrower one suits my beard better. Probably because of the material they are made of. I put the wider one in my travel bag. I'm definitely very happy with them.

In my experience this is GREAT, not plastic. I was careless and got caught on a hook in my hair and the comb flew out of my hands and a bunch of teeth broke off. Before I dropped it, it did a great job of diffusing my natural oils throughout my strands. I liked it very much. Can buy another!

The best combs are made of horn or bone. That's a good idea of heredity and craftsmanship. I'm sure if you make the switch from a metal or plastic comb to this one you'll love it.
