Hey this is pretty cool it has open ends although there are no caps on the outer ends but they are pretty good quality and they screw straight down the threading was good and they look great for that Money I would buy again.

This is made of aluminum. true to your word. Bought for a 7 year old boy. Just attach them to your bike. Super light. A problem. This is aluminium. Aluminum is very malleable. The thread only broke under his weight. Didn't stand up to use. In the end, the pin fell off because the thread was severed, resulting in a serious bicycle accident and a bloody knee. Buyers can only get this for the looks. But if you really want to add weight, don't buy aluminum.

I bought these for a custom project so I didn't install them on my bike. They are made of aluminum and are very light and the metal is soft. I had to drill them out to 3/8 and was able to drill out the threads in 10 seconds with the pen in my hand (so soft).
