It's big and holds tons of coffee.

I've been using it for a long time. It does its job and bought it to replace another (another company) that was leaking and difficult to clean. If it's due to stains on the inside after prolonged use, I just add some baking soda and let it sit for 20 minutes. With a long brush I just gently comb through from the inside and it gets nice and shiny so I can use it again.

Pros
  • Everything is fine!
Cons
  • Appearance

Gives water a strange taste

Keeps water warm well, but has clear disadvantages. Pouring is difficult due to the lid. I had to unscrew the lid every time. The plastic lid also gives the hot water a very strange taste, I only noticed when drinking pot water without tea leaves that it tasted like white plastic under the lid, I'm not sure what material, but it may not be good for your health.

Pros
  • Pretty packaging
Cons
  • Cord is shorter than other picks

Great decanter! at Serveware

Purchased to replace my first Zojirushi Decanter which decided to commit suicide by jumping off the kitchen counter. He lived happily with me for about 6-7 years. All this is aside. It is well designed and keeps the coffee hot for a long time. Fits easily on my Technivorm Moccamaster. Definitely good for another hot cup three or even four hours later. I can only recommend this decanter! Hence my buyback.

Pros
  • Regular Price
Cons
  • Update Availability

No metallic taste thanks to glass insert

Carafe keeps tea hot for a long time; and because it uses a glass insert, it doesn't impart a metallic taste to the tea. However, I would like Zojirushi to use a better lid (push-on lid in their other line) for this item. The pivoting lid is annoying when I have to open the carafe frequently. Also, this carafe makes a hissing noise that I first thought was a bat nesting in my wall. But now I like it. I named my Zojirushi Dragon Alistair.

Pros
  • Great overall performance
Cons
  • Sad packaging

gives Japanese products a bad name

is an insult to a Japanese made product as some kids designed this one in their garage and somehow assembled it in Japan It's best at keeping the temperature better than Stainless steel but the problem is the rest. Very thin outer case which is very unstable and doesn't support the glass inside properly, one wrong move and the wool thing will break, structurally it's very very weak, the inner glass piece in place and Keep in place, if you press your hand on the outer case, the bottom will pop…

Pros
  • Holds most direct brew jets
Cons
  • Crumpled

Pairs perfectly with RSVP coffee dripper

I bought this 1.6 liter carafe to replace/upgrade a Krups 1 liter carafe that I have used for many years and it still works great. Love the extra capacity and how it works better with my RSVP coffee dripper. The round "bottom" of the funnel fits just behind the carafe's threads to stand securely while I pour hot water over the coffee grounds. There's just no way the dropper will fall, even if it gets hit, unless the entire carafe falls. The hole at the top is slightly larger than the spout on…

Pros
  • Hand wash recommended; Made in Japan
Cons
  • Obsolete

Amazing carafe with some flaws

I have the red 1 liter model, not sure if all of this applies to other sizes. In general, the thing is very pleasant. Advantages: - Keeps the coffee hot for a long time; ok by noon if I do it at 8am - Looks cool - Size 3 Hario V60 fits on it (Glass with plastic handle attached) Cons: - The inside of the lid is some kind of white porous plastic. It gets dirty with coffee and seems impossible to clean. As it stands, the coffee cools, and when the air escapes through the closed lid, the carafe…
